German Parliamentary Exchange Visit of Pakistan

A German parliamentary delegation, including MPs Michael Müller (Foreign Relations Committee), Christoph Schmid (Defense Committee), and Derya Türk-Nachbaur (Economic Cooperation Committee), recently wrapped up an extensive three-day visit to Pakistan. The trip aimed to bolster Pak-German bilateral ties and ignite meaningful discussions on crucial issues. The journey began with an in-depth briefing on Pakistan's political landscape and its pivotal role in Eurasian geopolitics. Highlights included a warm meeting with Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, Deputy Speaker of Pakistan's National Assembly and Head of the German-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group.

The delegation also had the honor of engaging with high-ranking officials, such as the Chairman of the Senate, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Defense Secretary, and Pakistan's Special Representative for Afghanistan at Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They delved into stimulating conversations on Pakistan’s geo-economic dynamics and cultural exchanges. The visit culminated with a poignant encounter with Afghan refugees at UNHCR Pakistan, underscoring the vital need for global cooperation on humanitarian issues.

This parliamentary exchange has not only deepened the bonds between Pakistan and Germany but also set the stage for future collaborations and a stronger mutual understanding
